A woman becomes engaged to a man. Leaves a fabulous metropolis to move to the middle of nowhere 3,000 miles away in the hopes of marrying him. Woman needs something to keep her occupied and to be quite honest, her biological clock was ticking. She had plants already and they were still alive. And based on the philosophy, plants first then if they are still living get a pet. If the pet lives, you can have a child. So they decided maybe it is time to add a four legged to their family.
They announced to some family members that perhaps it was time they got a dog since the man is allergic to cats. His sister found the most perfect puppy lost behind a grocery store. She brings him home and calls the couple. They make plans to drive 3 hours to pick up the puppy on Christmas day. It was love at first site and thank goodness the man was not allergic. They brought home their first son, Lucas George on December 25, 2009. And officially became mommy and daddy.
Mommy treated this little boy like a human child. She made sure he was breathing while he slept because she didn't know if dogs got SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome). She exercised him and taught him manners. She experienced separation anxiety the first time she left him with the sitter. Many text messages were sent. The man laughed and felt this was training for children one day.
Soon the mommy and daddy became husband and wife on April 16, 2010. The boy was left home 3,000 miles away from the ceremony but was there every moment. The sitter let him know that they were married and officially a "family". This meant a lot to everyone since they viewed Lucas as their first born son which he was. But it was noticeable that the boy was lonely.
By October of 2010, mommy convinced daddy the boy needed a sibling. As a family, they went to Petsmart that day. Lucas was scheduled to have a spa day aka bath and nails trimmed. A rescue, Half Way to Home, just happened to have various four leggeds there to be adopted. As the family walked through the door, they laid eyes on the most precious little four legged. Mommy was determined to bring him home and daddy agreed. Lucas had no idea what happened but on October 17, 2010 he got a little brother. The mommy and daddy brought home their second son, Eddie Vedder.
A few months later, mommy and daddy were surprised to find out they were going to be welcoming a two legged to the family. Four leggeds ruled the house. Mommy and daddy's only jobs were tending to Lucas and Eddie's needs. This two legged could ruin everything for the two of them. Mommy knew the two legged would not do that. She quit her job and became a stay at home mom. Lucas and Eddie loved sleeping on her ever growing tummy. Until one day, mommy and daddy quickly rushed out of the house and the sitter came to pick them up.
On September 10, 2011, the mommy and daddy welcomed their third son into the world. Garrett had two legs, no tail but would soon join the ever growing "pack". Lucas is the King. Eddie is the prince. And Garrett is the peasant. The King has declared this and this is house his kingdom will run. Mommy and daddy are only here to make sure there is a roof over their head and food on their plates. But that's ok because they are just a traditional, dysfunctional American family.
